One day all of his employees looted his store and left him hanging. He had to close down and after a few years he was able to regroup and open Drifters. Great burgers!

That being said, In-N-Out is in a league of its own compared to fast food burgers for my family. You can taste the freshness in the fries and the burgers compared to any other chain around. My parents live in Dallas and whenever we visit we hit the In-N-Out pretty hard!
I did not know that Red Top closed all it's locations. I really liked that place and almost always went when in the Springs.

Could not disagree more I go to in n out about twice for every day I'm in california. I like smashburger and 5 guys a ton though. there is just something about in n out that wins out for me. But seeing Cali in your rearview is pretty satisfying though.

I've eaten at the Drifter's on Austin Bluffs just south of I25 - very "meh" In n Out is much better than Drifters, but I don't swoon over In n Out, either.

Hmmm ... I haven't been impressed by In n Out, 5 Guys, or Drifters. I'd rather get a burger at Jack-in-the-Box than either of those chains if I'm going to do cheap-and-tasty. Smashburger, Fatburger, and Crave are great but my over-40 waistline can't afford the calories they pack into their creations. All-in-all, I'd just rather get some top-grade beef and grill it myself.

I will be honest with you. I was really tired of eating In-and-Out. After not eating any in-and-out for over 8years, I wouldn't mind.
I would rather have Tommy's here than In-and-Out

Speaking of burgers - anybody like Freddie's Steakburgers? I think they're pretty tasty too.

And Five Guys - I don't even remember their burger, I was too busy being aghast at the stupid amount of french fries they heaped on me.

If this came to town I would get excited. About the only reason I would ever want to go back to Ohio.
