I would say a lot more than you realize! The only thing keeping us safe is the restricted gun laws.

By reading comments like this it's just one more reason to be over prepared.

We seriously need to get assault weapons with extra big clips off the streets and out of the hands of common citizens. Once we have restricted the type of killing machines that people are allowed to own, Congress needs to start regulating the type of content that is available on the internet.

Obama needs to use his executive power to ban the second amendment from America. There's no reason for citizens to own guns, only the military and police should have them. For hunting? Um....it's called Go to the supermarket! For protection? Yeah, we have police for that as well as many various non-lethal means to protect. More people killed their loved ones and commit suicide with their murder machines than actually protect anything.

How many more gun tragedies must we endure as a country before we finally say "Enough is ENOUGH!!!" A congresswoman, innocent movie theater patrons, school children and even firemen get shot at?!?!!?! And this is what we can expect with more of the "let's have guns everywhere" laws like the rethuglicans want to pass all over the place

Yet another mentally ill liberal goes on a killing spree in a gun free zone ... folks the problem isn't guns, the problem is we allow liberals and Democrats to walk the streets.

I'm working on a theory ... haven't fleshed it out completely yet, but I'm beginning to think the current "anti-bullying" crusade is going to create more and more of these because we're creating a culture where "bullies" are worse than Nazis and thus subhuman and not deserving to live and victims of bullying are saints and martyrs who's actions in response to the bullying are 100% forgiven because they're "victims". Extrapolate that to anyone that feels that they've been victimized by society or a subset of society and all of the sudden you have someone that can be a mass murderer of innocent people and still see himself as a victim and a "gentleman".

Just look at all the memes, image macros and online jokes about "The Friendzone" ... that's basically where this guy was and why he killed. He feels he was "bullied" by all females for not only not having sex with him, but for considering him a friend while having sex with alpha males (who he believes are all jerks).

In addition to my theories about anti-bullying campaigns we're also seeing the rise of the homocidle beta-male (one might argue that progressiveism/liberalism is nothing more than a system that is meant to empower the beta-male at the expense of the alpha-male and the rest of society).

I think there may be validity in your thoughts. When I see a 22yr old college kid parked in his BMW ranting about "unfair" his life is, I want to throw him to the taliban. In simplicity, I think it is the entitlement attitude and the predominate mindset of "it is everyone fault by mine" is a factor more so in Gen Y than others, but I'm opining.
