Can't share the details in the open forum. I have to agree on the possible hidden talent part. However there is a cost associated with experimenting; not sure I can afford to trial, and error.
I would be willing to sample the goods though!!

I like a nice pale ale or maibock for regular drinking, I also have a nice light mead recipe that when carbonated in a corny keg and served chilled is refreshing. Been drinking some Angry Orchard trying to figure out their apple combo, it's also great to cook chicken and pork with. I won 3rd place at Brew Hut competitions twice and 3rd at the CO state fair for a peach wheat beer that my wife and her friends love. Odd that it's always been an extract with steeped grains recipe. Don't let anyone tell you that you can not make good beer with extract recipes.

I'm the rare fellow that does not enjoy pale ales. HOWEVER, since they are SOOOOO popular, and EVERY mix pack I buy has at least two different pales in them, I've built up a high tolerance and don't even hesitate to drink them now. My favorite are strong browns and English ales.

Just got into extract brewing at the start of the year after watching my dad and brother in law brew for years. Initial start up can be pretty expensive, especially if you go straight to kegging (which is what I did as it takes away from "hoping" your sugar mix will carbonate in the bottles). It is also very cool to have people over and be able to pour them a beer from tap. I used a 7cu ft freezer turned keezer with a temp controller for my set up. As much as I like supporting local home brew stores, I always find they are fairly overpriced when comparing with retailers online. I will usually shop at northernbrewer online and pick up yeast/kits and any last minute items from a local store. Only two beers on tap, one is an IPA (clone from GCB) and the other a red.![]()
