2. What were the surnames of those killed @ Columbus? I believe they are exclusively anglo.

Any reference to that would be nice. I am responding to your claim that Columbus was all white town and disproved your claim. That's all.

3. Pancho Villa's reasons were monetary and racial. My recollection is that he raided Columbus because of weapondry he was promised by Americans and as a punitve measure to kill white Americans because of the deal gone south. Leon Metz-The Border

Not exactly. Historians from both sides of the border did mention about defective American ammo which he received.

3 of those raiders were white americans. I am not claiming myself as History buff, but I do love to read, and American history is extremely interesting to me. To the best of my recollection on the topic, Pancho posse killed any civilians they could find until they hit the down town area, where the US soldiers were forming a defensive line on a small mount and effectively killed many of the riders w/ 'machine gun' as they charged.

Please don't turn a historical event into racial issue. Because one can argue that the 10000 union soldiers under Gen Persing then kicked all the minority out of columbus - drove into northern Mexico and commit things that we don't like to mention. It was a raid - by mostly spanish posse into mostly white town. Leave it at that.

I stand by my posts. I was born and lived in the county Columbus was in for over 30 years, aside from going to the next county over for college, also on the Mexican border.

I've been in the Sportsman's Warehouse next to the Citadel mall about a dozen times, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I was the only white customer, ALL the other customers were either Latino or Black (now its a big store, so maybe I missed a few crackers skulking around the tents or the shoe department or something). Note that most of the time I only saw 2 or 3 other customers as well.

Seeing as how you're way over in 94.92% White Teller County (compared to only 80.66% here in CS), maybe you don't get to that part of The Springs all that often, but its very much in the middle of "The Barrio" (such as one exists here).

My point was that there's really no reason to be all that upset about the Spanish music there if its catering to the majority of their customer base. Now if the store were up by the Chapel Hills mall (deep in White suburbia) maybe the OP would have a little more to complain about.

Well I'm not going to argue with your experience, but I stand by mine ... maybe it has something to do with time of day (for me its usually around lunch time or right after work ... maybe the white folk shop there on the weekend)

Hence my "(such as one exists here)" comment. The fact remains that the percentage of the population of people living in the Citadel Mall area is significantly Latino (with a rather large contingent of Black folk) whites are in the minority in that part of town.

So I stand by my original assessment ... the choice of music is a reflection of the majority of the customer base, not some evil La Raza plot to legalize illegals or reclaim the southwest for Azatlan.

1. The original poster posted that there was Spanish music playing in the store and that this somehow offended him. I guess some people see the encroachment of Mexican culture into American culture as some sort of plot against American sovereignty and/or culture. I certainly agree that amnesty for illegals and refusal to secure the border are, but I don't believe some Tejano music at a sporting goods store in a Latino neighborhood is.
