Ya mean the profits stay HERE?

    Mr Toyota lives HERE?

Don't care about the execs. They are still providing AMERICANS with jobs that help them feed their families. By your logic I should also not purchase Glocks, Berettas, FNs, HKs, Sigs, Taurus, CZ, Benelli, Bersa, EAA, or any other firearm that isn't an American company even though they may have factories in this country and make firearms here?

Ok since I'm the OP, I'm obligated to chime in on this wildly absurd turn this discussion has taken.
1- I didn't ask what truck to buy, it's not like a discussion where I'm asking "I'm in the market for an AR, know absolutely nothing about what exactly I want, so help me out." No, I said I'm considering this truck, does anyone have one currently or recently, what did you think? What did you like? What didn't you like? I think we established those questions and answered them beyond my satisfaction.
2- The Frontier is built in America, that's good enough for me, even if some Japanese guys end up with the final profit, they still employ US workers in a US factory that pays them a nice paycheck so they can go out and live in America (unlike several US companies that build a lot of their vehicles in Canada and Mexico). I'm not too worried about it being a technically "Japanese truck." In the end I don't need to justify my patriotism by the truck I drive, I think my service to my country is patriotic enough for my own validation to myself, I don't need to prove anything to anyone. That's my honest to shit opinion on that. Jer pointed that out perfectly- that "America or eff you" mentality is quite honestly tired and contrived.
3- Thanks to Battle_sight_zero, Blacklabel, osok and everyone else for the valuable input on the Frontiers you guys own (good looking trucks to those of you posting pics). Honestly, and this could be just personal taste, looking more into it, and actually walking a lot or two recently, I like the look of the Frontier more than the other smaller trucks in the running. Of course many will say just go full size- have been on and off driving my family's '05 Dodge Ram 1500 for about 4 years now, that thing is a monster, and really not the best for those wild hair nights where the GF and I or friends and I end up in the city and parking gets to be just a wee bit too tight for a big honker to fit. So yeah, thanks guys... this has been a good discussion so far, and as soon as I'm ready to buy I'll be sure to post pics, of course pre-grille guard and after.

Ronin, is it wrong that I just read this entire post and the entire time I heard Ron Swanson's voice saying it? Good luck with the truck purchase!

Not at all... "Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have. Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, "Give me a lot of bacon and eggs." What I said was, "Give me all the bacon and eggs you have". Do you understand?"

I know im late to the party but...

Having had a nissan, and toyota,
And ford my next truck would be.

Wait a year or 2 and get a dodge with the 3.0 diesel.

    Or. Used ford ecoboost.

I can see no advantage to buying a compact truck. Same mileage, less room, less comfort, less power, less towing capacity, less aftermarket support (except taco), similar cost..
    sent from my fone!

I dont have a frontier but we just bought a 14 xterra and it is a nice rig. Lots of power, vvt on the engine, gets close to 20 miles per gallon. Easy to get around in parking lots compared to a fullsize. One of the last few body on frame small rigs. Leather and all the goodies pro 4-x for around 30. Not many problems for the second generation nissans. The engines can also handle a supercharger if you want more power later. Nissan is suposed to be doing a redesign in 15 but havent heard much about what they are changing. We went nissan becasue it has been basically unchanged since 05 and they seem to have it pretty well figured out, unlike a lot of the others who are running totally new vehicles and have teething problems.

Also there are a few companies here in denver area that sell aftermarket bumpers, roof racks, sliders and suspension lifts. Place in boulder does the bumpers and accessories and nisstec in denver does suspension. Nissan has huge aftermarket support, just like toyota.
