Default Need a close camping spot ASAP

Well...my friends let me down on booking a camping spot at dillon this weekend so now I'm hustling to play catch up. Dillon/granby/carter/horsetooth etc etc. all are filled.

now I'm down to finding a spot off a forest service road. I have a 19' camper and they will have a tent. So something I can fit my camper, nothing bad for off road as my camper sits a little too low for anything too extreme.

my hunting area was my first thought but it is shut down for the summer so no access.

anybody have anything semi close not far off I-70 and not horribly far away?

i saw a few spots while riding today at Idaho springs but they were a bit too small.

if you want to keep it quiet and PM me, I promise to keep my lips sealed.

Lots of first come first serve spots up the Poudre Canyon but you will need to go early.

Tomahawk truck stop is pretty close.

But it seriously good luck. Everything I know is booked solid the rest of the summer. Jackson res, red feathers, etc etc.

There are places off Guanella Pass that would fit your bill. Last time we were up there I can picture a place that would be perfect. It was past all the real curvy sections, down the back side where it comes into a kinda valley. At the bottom is where I am thinking. It was all paved until the final turn off, which your camper should easily handle.

My wife and I just looked it up for ya. We think it was close to these coordinates. Really you can just drive the road, which was almost new and if you get to where it turns real bad... You went to far. We found several places that would fit what you are looking for.

The below is our best guess looking at satellite pics. There was a place were you came out on a high road over this valley that dropped quickly to the floor with easy switchbacks. You can see the pics show the nice roads and where we camped is pretty flat. There was a creek by the side so you could hear the water flowing. We had a great time. The middle pic is of the valley from the camp site.

We are heading up at about 10-11. Think that is early enough?
