Well, I made a new fire pit large enough for a pallet base, left some large fuel logs, and there's a survivor-style shelter minus the thatching at a turn off on Forest Road 128. If you find it, you'll be in the best spot up there.

Best way to get in to see me at the shop is to call or email Shannon and make an appointment.

Took me a while to find 128 on the map. I think we're going to try and go hike around Meadow Creek Reservoir. Seems like quite a way up 129.

From the Highway 83 turnoff, that's spot's probably about 20 minutes away. It's not too bad.

Anyone ever been up to Meadow Creek Reservoir? The one review I read said it tended to get crowded, but I have a hard time believing that.

You'll pass the entrance for the reservoir on your way up to that spot I listed. Once they open the gates, it gets pretty crowded. Last year I stayed right at the mouth of the trails and when we were riding quads around, the satellite "lot" was so full people had just set up tents there.

Last time I was up there we had a fox so close you could pet it.

We didn't see any animals except squirrels and birds.
