Progressives blame Reganomics for OC craze.

Just what the title says. I got sick of hearing bergdhal over and over again and flipped over to the Progressive channel on Sirius XM yesterday afternoon to hear what they were saying.

The thought process goes like this.

Regan economic policy has led to an erosion of the middle class.

As low to middle income white men feel their status and power eroding, they flock to a symbol of power, the gun.



These people are clearly mentally deficient, or willfully stupid. I couldnt listen for more than 5 minutes.

They are completely wrong as usual, the middle class improved dramatically under Reagan. You mean President Reagan and not Don Regan (SecTres from 1981 to 1985)...right? The failed economic policies of Clinton, embraced by Bush the Younger, and redoubled by Obama are eroding the middle class.

They are partially correct about the reasons people gravitate towards firearms, but their basic reasoning is flawed. Mao Zedong once said "Every communist must grasp the truth, all political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." which is the truth and Washington, DC has known this truth since before 1934 (the unconstitutional NFA Act). I will argue that Americans are seeing the tyranny coming out of Washington, DC and are arming themselves against the slowly encroaching unpleasantness. Of course, owning a gun doesn't make you a marksman any more than owning a piano makes you a musician.

Some people in this country recognize that the economy will continue to spiral downward, they realize that crime will continue to increase, and they see that law enforcement and the courts cannot stem the tide. These brave men and women understand that they must take it upon themselves to guarantee their own safety and the safety of their family and friends.

Liberals will be the subjects of the tyranny they continue to vote for, the victims of the criminals they create through their failure to hold themselves personally responsible for their own safety, and poverty will seek them out as they look to the state for their sustenance. These are all good and natural things, stupid should hurt.

I should clarify that I think Mao is wrong about political power. Mao's perspective is that of a murderous communist and they believe in power (murder of humans and ideas) over all else.

I don't know that Mao was completely wrong. I think we have a pretty fair election process. However, once in power, the government through elected officials, forces citizens to do many things via the gun barrel: graze cattle on unapproved land = armed gov't agents show up to remove/confiscate cattle, don't pay taxes = a collection agency with armed agents is there to potentially force you to pay taxes (or at least take you to jail), and so on.

Mao is correct for communists already in power, but the origins start with the man in the street. I think that if people knew that Mao would engineer the murder of 10s of millions of Chinese maybe they wouldn't have allowed him to gain power.

I wish non-Socialists would quit enabling the Socialist theft of this label. They are not "Progressive", they are regressive Stalinists or Maoists. Liberals have been rewriting history before our eyes and we've not only watched it, we've enabled it as they redefine words and change history from how things actually happened to how they want to portray it.

The original Progressive Party ran Theodore Roosevelt at the head of their ticket in 1912. TR was not a virulent anti-American Socialist like so many of today's liberals. He was a Republican who happened to disapprove of and fought against the party machine but who also disapproved of the Democrat Party and who called FDR a "scoundrel". Letting Obama and his robots steal the Progressive title from TR is like letting Chuck Schumer call himself a Reaganite because Reagan approved of the Earned Income Tax Credit as a means to incentivize low-paid work over staying on the dole (before Dems distorted what the EITC was for).

Check out electoral maps from 1980 and prior years before you use "red state" and "blue state" -- historically, the Democrats were portrayed with red and GOP with blue. That suddenly changed in 1984, coincidentally with Reagan's anti-Communist campaign and a resurgence of public awareness of the evils and dangers of Communism (reds).
