Will it still be a joke in a couple of years if/when they hack the RNC emails and distribute those right before an election?
Sometimes I wonder why Fox News and many conservatives keep kissing the ass of a guy who is an iron fisted dictator that invades foreign countries, was a KGB agent that was bent on destroying us, and has proven his gov't can hack into servers with very sensitive information on them. Maybe their next target will be NASDAQ or a large bank that could wipe out hundreds of billions from our economy.
Right or wrong, Russia, specifically Putin, does something which all people clamor to when there is a vacuum: the appearance of leadership and strength, solicitude for his own people, and willingness to engage in at least the appearance of smart politics rather than ham-fisted militarism (it wasn't Russia that has fomented a losing regional war since 2001).
We've had a wrist-flicking pansy at the helm for 8 years who has blundered internationally every chance he got, and what he hasn't blundered, his lackies have.
While our glorious leader laments the death of thugs and the plight of SJW's, Putin and company do things like lock up feminist rabble rousers, bomb the crap out of ISIS and ISIS-lite (FSA). While our glorious leader shuts down good opportunities to locate energy resources, Putin expands. While our glorious leader continues playing by the book the KGB injected into the US vis-à-vis the psychological/sociological warfare of progressive liberalism [read: socialism via destruction of society at a moral level; cf. Yuri Bezmenov, Bella Dodd, et al.], Putin keeps that poison away from Russia (cus he knows what it does to societies, which is why the KGB did it -- they just didn't expect it to work so darn well and for so long, and the consequences it would have internationally).
Like him or not, the man plays a better hand than Americans so far. It might be an act, it might not be an act, or it might be both. Either way, it's smarter.
The RNC's best bet would be to not do dumb crap -- can't get caught doing good, just evil. Whether Russia, another state actor, or some 4chan loser who uses the right sequence of tools in Kali Linux, if it's connected to the internet, it's open to attack.
But let's be honest... Obama isn't exactly George Washington, expanded a failed war effort, has questionable foreign ties himself (if he is even an actual US citizen), highly questionable domestic ties and influences, the US .gov also hacks foreign countries, and the socialist policies and massive debt Obama and crew have put in place will have far greater reach in their damage than a bank getting hacked. The bubble is blowing and the question is when it will pop -- if Russia pops it, it's still our collective fault for it being blown to begin with.

Didn't they hack the RNC, too, already? Turns out there were just no vast conspiracies circling there other than the already-well-documented attempts to stop Trump from winning the nomination.
If TurtleMitch were in some weird TurtleCult, I'm pretty sure we would have heard about it this election cycle - and the Dims were already pulling out all the stops trying first to promote Trump (as a joke/spoiler) then desperately trying to torpedo him as the nominee.
I don't care if it WAS the Russians who leaked the emails - I hope they, or someone else, continue to leak all the internal documents of every single political party. Cabals don't suit a representative federal republic.
