Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...
Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?
My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
I've learned to not care as much what people do for money as long as it's not hurting me. I get less mad, and just don't contribute. It's basically the same as a sales job. I don't HAVE to buy what they are selling, if someone else wants to, good for them.

Completely agree.
When their sign says "Hungry", or "Need Food", or something along those lines I will go hit the closest hamburger joint and buy them a couple burgers and a drink (bottle of water on warm days, coffee on cold days). Costs me $5-6, but seems pretty well received, for the most part.
I won't give cash.
I took a guy home once after contacting him for panhandling/walking in the street near 52nd/Wads. Looked the part of a homeless guy. He wasn't drunk or anything. I asked if he needed a ride to a shelter and he said he didn't, he lived in the area. Wound up living in a nicer house than I did right near 64th and Ingalls. He sheepishly admitted he did this instead of working and made about $30k in an average year and $40k+ in a good year.
Now I don't trust any of them.
