Narco Corridor Culture. A huge percentage of current mexican pop music is celebratory songs of the cartel culture. Think gangster rap in the nineties. These bands have heavy ties with the cartels. Leaders will even call the band up and ask them to write a song about a particular killing or other drug deed they have done. Incredibly popular both down there and up here. F'd up stuff.
