    Hopefully more than three. I don't think I ever used a pencil on a cassette though.

    Usually trying to save favorite tape.

    I still have and regularly use cassettes in my shop.

    The decks that would rw or ff to the next song would sometimes jumble up the tape. A pencil or bic pen helped out nicely. I remember even cutting tape when it was all screwed up and splicing it together with scotch tape and an exact-o knife. You just missed a few seconds of the song, no big whoop.

    Yeah, a questionable player would unload a tape on occasion, so I've been there a time or two. I remember taking my uncle's shitty van hagar tapes and stuffing wads of paper in those little corner slots so I can record over them lol
