Unfortunately those companies set the spedos to "62" or what have you and one truck's 62 can be 62.7 and the other 62.5 and thus you have a turtle block. I really wish the slower of the two would just let pedal off briefly but, most of them are steering wheel holders and can't seem to have that forward of thinking. I'd also surmise this comes from the elogs and them wanting to max out their clocks for that CPM pay.

They should just take all of those big trucks off the road. I mean we don’t even need them. We can get everything we need from stores or just order it online. No real reason for them to be on the highway.

I get the need for trucks. Say what you want, but there's NEVER a good reason for a damn gravel hauling semi to be going 54 mph in the left lane on I-70 between Wadsworth and Kipling during the morning commute (65 mph zone)during the morning rush hour. I find myself behind these asshats at least 3 days a week. What the hell is so hard about "Slower Traffic Keep Right"?

It will be interesting to see how traffic changes if as many trucks go autonomous as they claim.

It's as simple as who has the newer tires. More tread? Higher speed for same RPM. These trucks are almost always rev limited, not speed.

Yes, some of it is the ELD bs, but the majority of it is the fact that almost all of society only cares about the proverbial "me, me, me".

Autonomous trucks will actually change a lot of this. The gains that can be made by creating chains of trucks (aerodynamics, etc) that can "sync" and travel will play into this a lot.
