    I had the umbilical hernia surgery a couple of years ago. I was up and moving about six hours after the surgery (took a nap) They had anesthetic taped to me to help with the pain initially, but I removed it after 24 hours. By the next day, I was able to move around without too much trouble and only using Tylenol to manage the pain.

    Key for me was I kept moving around, which kept things from tightening up. When I did sit down, I sat in our kitchen table chairs, which are a little higher than the couch. Biggest challenge was getting off the toilet given its height.

    How long until you were back to 100%?
