Need help with Firefox

Don't know wtf happened, but I am getting MAJOR pop-up issues, and ads everywhere!

I have cleared all caches, history's, no new ad-on's, I've even started in safe mode and run ad-aware and spybot. I am still having major issues. What am I missing?

ad's on firefox do not happen on IE.

Do you have avast or c: cleaner? Any new tool bars?

A few things to try, that you can DIY.

1. Run Malwarebytes, one of the best detection percentages, kills spybot and adaware.
2. Uninstall, clear preferences folder, and reinstall firefox.
3. Install Chrome, it's better anyways.

This is my thought, not to be a fanboy. I still have firefox too, and would recommend you try 1 and 2 first, but 3 is great too.

Ran the malware and removed a bunch, Uninstalled and cleared out Firefox. Open chrome that was installed on here a long time ago...... SAME FLIPPEN ISSUE!!!!!

IDK I run adblocker with my ff.........chrome would be my second choice but I think less secure. Are you sure it is your browser causing the popups? I have gotten some ads lately too, I think there are those trying to push the ads/pop-ups working on bypassing the adblocker type software (or finding new host servers not listed in said blocking software) idk. But ads/popups are pretty rare for me, if your getting a lot............

It's only recently, like a couple days recent. Craigslist for sale is how it really all started. and has just escalated

Before you run any addware\spyware removal tool, make sure that you run them in safemode and disconnect the network cable from the computer, they tend to hide when you run a scan on them, and\or re-install after you remove them.

Also you could try searching for weird\funny looking running applications on your taskmanager, try using google chrome and run adblocker, but this is just a patch, not a fix.

Plan b would be saving your files and re-imaging your computer.

OR ! Save your files and rebuild your profile, it is not much work, and will fix your issues. ( Does not need to re-iimage the computer )
