    Default RIP Louis Awerbuck

Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to meet him but I did enjoy and learn quite a bit from his articles and vids. Sad loss.

He chose to go out on his own terms. May he rest in peace.

Amen, I had never heard of him before, seems like a good egg after doing some searches on him. RIP and I wish peace on his family and loved ones, not an easy thing to deal with.

Awerbuck was a very early pioneer in a lot of tactical stuff, officer survival etc. A great is lost to us.

To echo what Mick & sp said; he is a loss to all of us, but may he RIP.

I have heard many great things of him; I'm sorry I did not meet, let alone get some training by, the "yoda".

Details are scarce, but the interweb has it that that he pulled the trigger on himself after a doctor's visit.

From what I read and heard; Louis was in failing health. That being said; as Mick alluded, he went out on his own terms.

I read an interview where he said the only thing he feared in life was losing control of his body and being cognizant of that fact. Talk about foreshadowing, huh?

    That's a shame.

Recoil has a nice write up.

Mr Awerbuck was an instructor I always *meant* to train with. Now that it's too late I'm sorry I didn't make the trip.
