Look back a few lines. I never intended to start a diatribe about a "list", I simply said that the BG check is far more onerous and important to rescind than the mag ban which is easy to circumvent. Then a bunch of the usual B.Sr's decided to start an argument. I simply cannot beleive some of you cannot see the danger in recording things on paper that were not before. Let's hope that Beauprez gets rid of both, but I still say the most important is the BGC.

Yes, through a VERY tedious and time consuming process, it is possible to track a lot of firearms to their specific owners through a paper trail, but your assertion of the automatic generation of "THE LIST" implies a tremendous amount of complicity by each and every FFL which conducts a completed firearms transfer. Possible? Sure. Likely? Not really, in my opinion. Is a BGC transferred firearm more susceptible to traceablity (sp?)? Yes. Is the .gov going to confiscate EVERY SINGLE FFL's disposition book(s) and create that list? If they do, we will likely be at the point that that is nowhere near the top of our worry list.

Just my opinion on it. Take it, or leave it.

OP was a statement about his concern as BB being the chosen candidate, so I guess if we don't get too far off-track from BB's ideals and likely stances, it's not derailed. But if we focus on specific law/policy already in place, then I guess we are off the tracks. Dunno.

    Back to these lines?

C'mon, you tell me. Did you guys lose logic somewhere? And by the way, go back to the first post, THIS IS MY THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The BGC law is going to be harder to repeal and as such we need to work twice as hard to get rid of it. Most people don't understand how or why the BGC law is bad nor to they see it as such an egregious and onerous thing so they won't support repeal as readily (and certainly won't push for it). Also being more egregious and onerous its one thing that the hard left wants more than any of the other laws passed.

The mag ban is nothing more than spiting in our eye ... "counting coup in the culture wars" but the universal BGC is the first step toward complete registration (which is the first step toward confiscation). The left is going to fight hard to keep it (which is why we have to make sure the "R"s are in complete control after the election).

I'm 100% in favor of repealing the Universal BGC we have for private transfers, but how is that going to negate dealer sales required federal BGC that will never go away, and the resulting paper trail that has and always will exist?

You don't seem to be able to differentiate between the two.
    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

Yes, Yes!! Private sales of course. Isn't that what the new law changed? Private sales? We already had the BGC for buys from an FFL, but the private sales are what we must protect and keep unrecorded.

Yes you are right, we are supposed to be on the same side, but sometimes what comes out of a posters mouth sounds just like an anti-gunners wet dream. I know there are differing opinions, but as gunowners, are we that far apart? Let's just hope if the R's win big, that they remember to stay well on the right in regards to the gun issue, and all the other important items, like Obamacare, illegal aliens, the economy, the rediculous never ending "war", our phony money, etc. I'm just hoping Beauprez will do what is right on the two gun laws foisted on us, and get them rescinded. Most of the time it seems after the election is over the R's revert to the left of center, forget those campaign promises, and don't do a thing.
