Kopp had Bill Armstrong, one of the pillars of the Colorado republican party doing ads for him that ran all the time on radio. To say Beauprez got higher end endorsements isn't factual.

I was rooting for Kopp BTW.

It's ok for your dog to run rampant, but if effects you, oh the tears . Man up, enjoy the day, life's too short for you to stroke out behind a keyboard.

FWIW: BB should have never been allowed to run, based on his last dismal performance / numbers. It wasn't one group think that voted for him. It was folks (other than me and obviously others here), who felt he would make a better candidate.

Jesus...go back and read all the replies, in order. Stash the butt-hurt, or go back to the "attack" thread.

Now that we've all voted for our principles/favorites, it is time to vote for the primary winner and defeat the spineless mealymouth. Bob had a good interview with Mandy and I heard a couple of his ads, if he stays true to those things he spoke about we'll be just fine. We can hold him true by getting him an (R) House and Senate, we can win this but only if we all get together behind Bob. Don't pout, don't stay home, don't leave the governor's circle on your ballot unfilled because you're not happy with the primary result, vote for Bob and we'll cross the line in November together as winners.

I am actually a little surprised that, at least those who have said, so many from COAR15 voted for Kopp. Kind of makes me wonder what this particular group saw, or the demographics, that look like such a large percentage voted Kopp when statewide he was last.

    But yes, GO BB!

THIS! Come November, I really hope people get up, get out there and vote... Get BB in the Governor's Office in Denver, get the house and senate our way, and let's work on getting CO better than it has been in the past. I really like what Kopp said: I want to congratulate @bobbeauprez on winning the nomination tonight. I’ll be helping Bob in the race in any capacity I can." If all the other (R) candidates get behind him and get everyone to vote we can send Hick packing. Now I'm kinda hoping Dunafon doesn't steal too much of the vote away- met him, he's a nice guy, but running on the (I) is more likely to take more votes away than actually do anything. We still aren't at the point where a 3rd party stands any chance at all.

As a group, the folks that frequent this site are better informed about politics and politicians than the general public. A large part of the public only gets their info from the evening news. My own opinion is Beauprez won by name recognition rather than by agreement with his positions.

Me and my family voted for Kopp, so a bit disappointed now. However, my pre-election guess is Bob would win. He lives in the neighborhood across from mine and I see he and his wife in the local King Soopers on occasion. We will be volunteering to help his campaign.

And although he wasn't my first choice, i'll be putting up a Beauprez sign as soon as I get one. Lets hope everyone can get on board and start to take back our state.

The primaries are truly a time when your vote really does count. Sure...someone on the republican state committee may have talked to Beauprez about running, but it was registered republican voters that put him, and not one of the other candidates, into the final race.

The incumbants win up to 95% of the time so for the most part primaries are tuff for new blood. It is especially hard if you are not only fighting the Dems but have to fight the GOP....see the primary in Mississippi between the Senate incumbant Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel. McDaniel did well enough to force a second vote. The crony GOP went as far as reaching out to Dem voters to put Cochran back into the Senate...another Rino wins who will do nothing to stop the spending in DC. If that would not have worked McDaniel would have won he had a majority vote with the Rep voting base. It was shameless the tactics used and kept another good conservative from winning. This is a perfect example why nothing changes no matter who wins each party is interested in power and control of the Gov wallet.

That being said I also voted for Kopp. Beauprez was pushed because of name recoginition. Hick is so weak I would have thought most R's could have beat him in the election. BB will get my full support moving forward.
