Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

17 yrs old. Has guns and ammo in a safe in his room. He had a storage unit where he was making explosives.
Just how did the parents have no clue? Wake the fuck up and start being parents. That's the damn problem. Keep your eyes and ears on your kids. Pay attention to what they are doing. Have an interest in your kids activities and what they are doing and how they are acting. So many douche bag parents just pass the buck saying the had no idea bla bla bla. Fact is they have no idea who their kids are or what they are doing. Too damn busy with their jobs or social scedual to have time for the kids. This is the result.

The mom even said that she would be going to bed and see him sitting up at his computer, and she didn't know what he was doing.

Sorry, I am more involved in my children's online life. You need to be because they have access to so much more information that they are not neccesarily ready for mentally.

Psychotropic drugs are a lot of "what's changed".

We also don't keep the seriously mentally ill off the streets these days.

This is pretty much how I feel about it.

Nowadays we give the seriously mentally ill a bunch of pills, and leave it up to the seriously ill person to make sure he/she takes them.

As a pharmacist I can not argue. The SSRI's (Zoloft, Paxil, etc) were touted early on so effective that general MD's could prescribe. There was a lot of education put out for providers to help them identify their patients who might need an SSRI. What was seriously missing was pallative care that is provided by mental health professionals.

I also find it amazing whole generations of children were raised w/o ADD/ADHD meds.

But we all really know it was the evil black rifle wispering into his ear.

I feel as though a lot of the shit given to kids is poison and completely fucks with their head. It's insane that these drugs like Ritalin are used to control unwanted behavior; God forbid that we work with their excitement or distraction; nope, lets just drug them so we can make the problem go away...at least until they snap and go off the deep end.
