Had a similar conversation with an employee about a story I heard from another shop that had an employee with neck and face tattoos. Well the guy went on an install and the homeowner refused to let this, "gang banger" (her words) into her house to do the install. I told my employee that I would not hire someone with face or neck tattoos and he said, "that discrimination." I said yes it is and it's my business and my choice. He seemed to think that it is wrong to discriminate. I told him everyone discriminates, between what they eat and who the hang out with. Discrimination is part of life and saying it is wrong will not get you a job if the employer has a standard for hiring that goes against your from of "self expression."

    my 2 cents

Everyone in Rock and Roll seems to be covered with Tatts.....

I've got one. But I think that if you can't cover it with a t-shirt + knee length shorts... you shouldn't get it ..

That used to be my philosophy but I've loosened my policy as far as the shorts. I figured just about any job I would ever interview for or get will probably involve long pants. I kind of figure a job that is relaxed enough to let me wear shorts probably won't care too much about tattoos anyways.

Just had a daughter, she better not get a tattoo while I'm alive. I hope she doesn't become a model either.

Better start practicing up 24/7, now. You were a teen, how much did you try to sneak by your folks.
