I was against the net until reading this:

"A tearful Dana Barks of Napa, who lost his son, Donovan, to suicide on the bridge in 2008, said after the vote that he was almost speechless. 'A lot of people have done so much incredible work to get this accomplished,' he said."He rose from his knees and shared a tearful embrace with Sue Story of Rocklin, whose son Jacob jumped off the bridge in 2010.
" 'We did it!' Story said. 'It's no longer the Bridge of Death anymore.' "

Now I'm all for it based on that entirely emotional argument void of all logic.

I say go a step further and either lower the bridge of death or just remove it altogether. We have to end the senseless violence of the Bridge of Death.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

For God's sake, don't tell the potential jumpers there are other bridges to jump from. We'll have to put nets around everything over 10 feet high.

That was my first thought, people will now jump on purpose for fun.

And then someone will miss the net or fall anyway and their family/estate will sue. Typical.

So, the bridge took poor little Donovan's life?

Sorry for the man's lose but no one and nothing is to blame but the kid.

An average of 21 people a year have jumped since '37. Guess I don't see how a net is cost effective or a deterrent. Someone will make a bundle on it though.

The absence of logic is astounding. "oh wait, there is a net, I guess I won't kill myself today because jumping off this bridge is my lifelong dream and there is just no other way that works for me, guess I am stuck with living" ...stupid F****** people!
