G19 vs G26:Well, I'm pretty sure it's the trigger. 2 of my Glock 19s have 3.5lb triggers (One is a Ghost 3.5 and the other is an unknown 3.5lb match trigger that the previous owner installed). I shoot pretty well with each of those. I think I'm going to try a lighter trigger connector in my G26.

    For comparison:
    It's not the trigger

After each shot, leave the trigger pressed in and slowly release until you feel the actual reset. Once you feel the reset, try not to let the trigger out anymore and take your next shot from there.

+1 on it probably not being the trigger. Buy some snap caps in the correct caliber. Load up 3+ magazines and "randomly" put some snap caps in them. Just 1 to 3 per magazine. Then drop them in a bag/box/something to mix them up and draw them at random to load and fire. Or have a buddy load the mags for you.

I did this and it was VERY OBVIOUS what I was doing wrong. I was basically jerking the gun down and to the left. Now I make an effort to not do that and my shooting isn't a complete embarrassment now.

Also, I personally think those are impressive groups for the range.

Another way to see what's going on, although a real rube goldberg one. Buy a laser pointer, using painters tape, secure it to the top of the slide.

Maybe I didn't make the point abundantly clear: I'm not concerned with flinching or anticipating shots. I'm not worried about group placement - I'm talking about group SIZE. The plate on the left in the first picture is the only one that has a stock trigger.

Yes, everyone needs to practice their trigger squeeze mechanics, but that's not the red flag I'm seeing here. Does that make sense to anyone?

Yes, I do this, but should focus on it deliberately for increased benefit.

Thanks Irving. I practice more than I'm willing to admit to Mrs. HB...

In my mind, the golden standard is Hickox45 when he is standing in his backyard and shooting 6" and 8" steel plates with a G26 at 50+ yards. That's what I want to strive for.

    YUP!
I'm always impressed with my shooting abilities when comparing myself to anyone around me at the pistol range.
I'm thoroughly discouraged with my abilities when watching an action movie or looking at any post online.
At 15 yards I would bet a Glock front sight would cover a paper plate.

There's nothing wrong with your group size, for a non threat target. Threats don't stand still. You continually put round after round COM, that's good. YES for your own personal bar they could be better.

What's hickox45's overall group size on steel, continually? The stuff he puts out, cherry picks the good from bad.
