Took my 6 Grendel that member AKA Spook built for me out for some load development. Varget was a little high pressure with the really accurate load, so I decided to try H4895 with 105 Berger Hybrids.

I had also swapped out uppers. I had it in a LaRue OBR Lite upper and I moved it to a VLTOR monolithic upper. The monolithic uppers make mounting scopes much easier. And of course, a Thunderbeast suppressor and a S&B 4-16x42.

This is 5 shots at 610 yards. Pretty happy with that.

Technically it was yesterday but even with my ankle @ ~ 70%, I shot both of the Pueblo tactical matches because there was still a spot available in the afternoon.

Lucky for me you stayed on the couch

Been a while since my last trip to the range but managed to run out there this morning for a bit.

    Mostly wanted to shoot this.

First five shots at 25 yards were promising.

Since those five shots seemed a little low and ever so slightly left I moved the rear sight a little and got it close enough to make me happy. The fiber optic sights aren?t very conducive to tight groups but I was happy with it. It?s definitely minute of bunny or minute of soda can out to 25 yards.

I took it out to 50 yards but the glowing red front sight totally obscured the target at that distance. Managed to keep all five on the target (barely) and did have a center hit that blew the little orange paster clean off the target.

And of course what trip to the range would be complete without putting a couple of hundred rounds through your EDC?

I was a bit rusty through the first 50 rounds.

Worked on focusing on my front sight and controlling my trigger through the next hundred rounds and was pretty dialed in on the final 50 shots before I called it a day.

I need to remember how much fun the range is so I?ll try and get out more often.

I don't bend like that any more, I guess tactical matches are out for me. And yes, my knees hurt from seeing pic 2.

Spent some time with my old coworker/new shooting buddy. He's relatively new to shooting, having been raised in a East Coast liberal environment. That changed when he got hired as an optics engineer at a local manufacturer where pretty much everyone shoots.

I took him out for his first range trip a few years ago, and since then we've shot precision, tactical, handguns, and trap, and precision seems to be where he felt most comfortable. He certainly proved that this weekend. I've got an older Savage Model 12 in .223 that's reserved for him, using 75 gr AMAX and Lapua brass, and we spent Sunday morning at the 300 yard range at Great Guns. They say you're only as good as your last group, and his last group at 300 yards was 3/4 of an inch. I know that target will be posted near his desk for all of the real shooters to see on Tuesday morning.

checked zero on a suppressed 357 lever gun and 45 acp mauser conversion, also suppressed. Rand 1/2 doz mags through the SA 9mm 1911. Decided to have the slide cerakoted.

Think it will look good with the stainless slide.
