My father in law is in town visiting for the fourth and my daughters birthday. Took my daughter shooting for the first time with her new cricket 22 she got for her birthday. Father in law dumped a 75rd drum through my Hungarian amd smile from ear to ear. Was a good weekend.

Caught a Steel Challenge match in Pueblo yesterday afternoon. Several forum members were also there. Shot my Smith 929 revo. Always a good time.

Gonna grab my 243 and shoot it out past 1700 yards today. Also going to take my M-16 just because I can. Wont be shooting it out to 1700 yards though.

Shot with Hoser and Zach O today. The close target was at 600 yards, the long at 1,760 (1 mile). The mirage was very heavy out long, and there was plenty of wind. I was holding 17 feet of wind at one point and something like 70 feet of elevation.

We ended up with three hits on the mile target, but the mirage was so heavy it was impossible to tell exactly when they occurred. We each had a couple shots with no splash in the dirt, so I think we're dividing them up one each.

The M-16 was the perfect end to a fun day.

Yesterday afternoon - weather was beautiful after a short rain storm.

300-400ish rds of 22lr through a new CMMG upper on a full auto lower. Still needs work, but it was firing at least strings of 20 at a time by the end of the session. Needed cleaning and re-lube and a heavier buffer to really get going. Since the bolt carrier was moving out of place quite a bit, I think this thing may also help reliability. But dang was it fun.

Re-sighted in the irons on my scar 17.

Tried to spend a little time with an AK conversion I'm doing but I ran out of light. Getting the FA fire control parts into an AK receiver is a PITA when you can't see well.

Found a nice pile of brass somebody forgot to pick up at the range - free goodies!

Zeroed one of my Kimber 82Gs at 100 m with the Konus 6-24x50mm scope and did left-right iron sight zero on a couple new (to me) guns, an M&P 10 and a Daniels Defense .300 BLK upper mounted to my Double D lower. Forgot my spotting scope so was satisfied with just putting the target at 50 m and getting groups in the vertical borders of the 10-ring.

Saw someone with a CO AR-15 subdued cap at the range (Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex) -- he was with another guy and gal, shooting a nice suppressed AR out at 100m.

Took my new hunting rifle out for its debut. Modified Tikka T3 Lite in .300 WSM

Shot first loads of Barnes hunting rounds and AMAX practice rounds. Barnes went .6 MOA on the best group and .5 MOA with the AMAX. I'll load up some of the best shooting combinations and head out again tomorrow for 300 yard shooting.

245 yards with a 22 long rifle. 5 shots and 5 hits. Made my day. The hole in the middle (blue) is 6 inches.

Very nice shooting, Hoser, but more impressive that you were able to find 5 .22 LR rounds.

You can buy cases and cases of the stuff. Eley (Tenex) Red. $18-20 for 50... I was shooting Eley Blue yesterday. When this last case is gone I am going to have to start shooting Eley (Match) Black or Red. Not looking forward to making the switch.
