Shot a few mags of Eggleston coated 308 lead bullets out of my M-16 on full auto.
Got the rifle and can smoking hot. No leading or fouling inside the barrel, gas system or suppressor.
Accuracy was excellent for the handful of semi auto shots I took.
Guess there is something to those coated bullets after all.

198-200 gn bullets and 9.8 gns of 1680.
Didn't chrono any. Just full auto function testing.

.308 in an M-16 sounds like .300 blkout. Is that correct?

I hit a 12" round plate at 775y with a 6BR holding for 30mph of wind. 2 in a row![]()
If your post count is higher than your round count, you are a troll.
Cool. That sounds like some challenging shooting. I hope to get into long range shooting at some point.

With the seasons changing I might be restricted to indoor ranges for a little while.
Not able to make it to the range today, buthe did a good amount of dry firing. From malfunction drills, to firing to a cadence, and trigger manipulation. Dry fire is always a good way to go when I can't make it to the range. I saw marked improvement on my groups last time at the range as a result.
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.
Renewed my membership to Bristlecone, and shot the AR pistol with the new LaRue MBT. Very impressive stuff, I'll never be able to look at a milspec trigger the same way. Wasn't sure if a 2-stage on the pistol would feel right, but I love it. I imagine it'll be even better for a long range gun.
My red dot (bushnell trs-25) had been left on, so dead battery, and I didn't have a spare with me. Replaced the battery when I got home, and stuck 2 spares in the magpul grip.
Switched to the iron sights, and with the way the pistol is set up, I'm basically nose to charging handle, and my reading vision has gotten bad, so I was pretty much unable to use the rear sight. I know it's supposed to be out of focus, but it was so bad I couldn't tell if I was looking thru the rear sight aperture. Moved it forward about an inch. Looks wrong, but now it'll work right for me.
