Default Remember our fallen this weekend

Before we celebrate this Memorial Day weekend, please take a moment to remember and thank those we have lost, in their death we are able to celebrate so freely this weekend and every day.

    We walked among the crosses
    Where our fallen soldiers lay.
    And listened to the bugle
    As TAPS began to play.
    The Chaplin led a prayer
We stood with heads bowed low.
And I thought of fallen comrades
I had known so long ago.
    They came from every city
    Across this fertile land.
That we might live in freedom.
They lie here 'neath the sand.
    I felt a little guilty
    My sacrifice was small.
I only lost a little time
But these men lost their all.
    Now the services are over
    For this Memorial Day.
To the names upon these crosses
    I just want to say,
    Thanks for what you've given
No one could ask for more.
May you rest with God in heaven
    From now through evermore.

God bless all those that have served past and present. There are no words that can express how grateful I am.

My father will be the MC at the 10th Mtn. Division's ceremony up at their memorial on Tennessee pass right at the entrence to Ski Cooper on Monday morning... Not sure of exact times but I can find out if anybody is interested. Good chance to meet alot of local WW2 vets that played a major part in the history of this country, state, and the ski industry. There is usually a wreath laying, a speech by either a senior enlisted man, or a senior officer from Ft. Drum(the current home of the 10th), a rifle salute, and a number of other notable speakers.

heres a link from the denver post a few years ago...

God bless this great country and the men and women who fought as true patriots over the last 233 years! Your sacrifice will not be taken for granted!
