I personally feel that this should be required viewing in History classes. A very well made series.

I agree great series. Unfortunately with the way schools are teaching history now it would never be allowed.
But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.

Better hurry up and watch it. NBC is demanding ALL media outlets fall in line with their stance (Condemning Slave owners) and how the founding fathers are a Lie. Based on their wanting to get away from a stable monarchy, so slavery could be given a toehold in the Colonies.

FWIW, the John Adams Miniseries is also available for free via streaming to Amazon Prime members.
I watched it earlier this year, and really enjoyed it. I wish they had gone on to do similar miniseries for the other founders- Franklin, Jefferson, etc.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.
For legal reasons, that's a joke.
I've seen it before but watching again as it's very good.
I don't think the violence would be difficult to explain and it's pretty minimal through at least the first two episodes. It's certainly not glorified and, as a matter of fact, when watching portions of the debates at the congress many delegates give speeches completely denouncing violence as a means to an end.
I think as long as they're old enough to understand what was going on, and the significance of it, it would be appropriate for any young child.
BTW: I'm streaming it on Amazon.

There's a hint of male nudity during the tarring and feathering scene, and the naval combat scene has some folks that get wounded pretty badly, but it's not glorified. There is also a bare breast in the last segment but it is shown in a medical context for ye olde mastectomy.
Just seeing what people had to do just to survive then...man we're so soft these days. But I can also say that I do enjoy my life of comparable luxury.
