Default Vacuum pressure breaker sprinkler problems!!!

So with all the rain I hadn't used the sprinkler system until last night. I have one bad valve I haven't worried about because I need to sod the back yard anyways, I do have a minor leak at the manifold but not worth worrying about until I get it all redone anyways. But the 3 front yard sections work great, until last night! I fired it up and went inside, after the front ran I went out to turn the valve off so it didn't leak all night and that's when I seen it, the vacuum pressure valve whatever it is is spewing water everywhere and filled the window we'll that's right beside it which is my gun room, so needless to say I now have a swimming pool in my fucking gun room!!!!

Anybody do sprinkler systems? Or maybe I will just buy a sprinkler and use the damn hose.

Mega drag about the new indoor wading pool ... Sorry to hear!

My initial guess is the poppet valve inside the vacuum break is stuck/has junk around the seat/is broken. I'd open it up and have a look-see.

Bonnet or poppet went bad in it. Typical residential backflow, you remove the canopy and those two parts are inside of there. Typically on the side of the backflow there is a model number and size, go to somewhere like DBC irrigation in Greeley and they will have what you need to get it fixed. Other guess is that the device somehow split or has a crack in it, in that case you get to buy a new one. Home Depot will have what you need as well but they tend to be much more expensive. Good luck

or you got something caught in the poppet inside, it happens and it doesn't fully seat

unscrew the top nut that has the brass cover on it (looks like a top hat)
then you'll find a plastic piece that is screwed into the larger brass body of the PVB
you can unscrew that and if it's not broken, it might have something in it, or in the seat that's making it stick open.
