Default "Faith Based Charities" Receiving Billions in Grants

    This blows my mind.
This invasion has been planned for years - right under our noses - and we've been paying for - A LOT.

    Must Read:
    http://theconservativetreehouse.com/...mily-services/
Baptist Child and Family Services, along with Baptist Child and Family Services-Emergency Management Division, are actually the recipients of the Department of Homeland Security and Dept. of Health and Human Services grant money.

How much money you might ask?

Well, lets just say a single grant this month was for $190,707,505.00

    THAT’s a single grant.

    One grant for:

One Hundred Ninety Million, Seven Hundred Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Five Dollars.

For every one that doth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved.

    My faith-based charity would be:

I have faith I can dupe the government into giving me millions...my real problem would be which Ferrari to drive.

These organizations are infinitely better than the welfare office. My mom spent many years donating her time as a case worker to ecumenical social ministries in Colorado Springs. They provided job placement assistance as well as housing and food assistance. Yes, they actually provided help for those that want work and get back on their feet as opposed to rewarding people for not doing anything and complaining all day. Whether you agree with the faith or not, these organizations do a lot of good and I would be all for tearing down the welfare establishment and funding these organizations; it would work a lot better than the government run crap that we have now.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

One of the areas I most disagreed with President Bush, the Elder, was the funding of faith based initiatives. Nothing corrupts people and organizations of good intentions like the lure of government funding: see public funded education.

I believe in and support many charitable institutions because I choose to, based on my beliefs and means. I do not want the money that I am compelled to pay under penalty of imprisonment to be used to impose regulation and complexity on people who are trying to help others.

Ask any federal employee about the semi-annual Combined Federal Campaign conducted in the work place. In some offices I've worked in, it has been a "shake down" worthy of something out of an organized crime story.

You speak the truth about the CFC! Good lord, the ridiculous pressure is akin to a witch hunt if you don't donate something.

The only thing based on faith in these organizations is in their name. They are funneling tax money too/through them just as they did ACORN, but on a greater level.

You should perhaps read the article before commenting on it.
