If you like the Mathews then get it. You can certainly spend more on a bow, but if a bow fits then go with it. I've got a Hoyt Alpahmax 32 and there are times when I miss my old bowtech patriot for the dual cam and the longer length. Wifey-poo shoots an Elite, which I would recommend to anyone, but you can spend a lot more than on a Mathews. Jr Operator #1 shoots a Mathews Mission Craze, which is a great shooter. (Jr Operator #2 shoots a genesis, and Jr Operator #3 shoot a bear.) The important thing is to get a bow you like and go shoot the heck out of it.

Well, I shot just about everything. Ordered a Mathews Chill R today from No Limits. Can't wait to start practicing.

The cute blond at the archery shop couldn't seal the deal?

I would of bought her a house.

What are you guys using for broad heads? I am looking at the Muzzy Mx3/4, QAD Exodus, G5 Montec and Striker. Not looking at Mechanicals currently. What is the difference with the 3 to 4 blade? does straight fletching work or does Helical? I think I have narrowed down my arrow choices and decided on the Maxima Reds 350.

helicial or a straight offset work best with broadheads. If you do your bare shaft tuning, it won't matter what broad heads you're using as long as they're the same weight.

The Montecs are almost indestructible but require sharpening. I use them and the old Thunderheads.

Paper tuning with the Muzzy 4 blades was less finicky with one of my bows, an old carbon short limb design, so i have pretty much stuck with them but i think more modern bows can power through that problem much better. I have a set of Montec's and Striker's that work with my current bow and they look like an art piece to me. They all do the job if you do yours. Also i still believe in paper tuning even though a lot of shops have moved away from it.
As coloccw said a helicial or a straight offset works best from what i have seen but if using a whisker biscuit you will need to re-fletch much more often.

Recurve or Longbow. Wood, carbon or aluminum arrows. More challenging that way.
