It's an utterly ridiculous situation. The cops were prevented from actually taking the pictures. It's hard not to make jokes about such an inherently funny subject.

Lighten up Francis.Already had the wind taken out of the sail anyway. After sitting on a Jury and finding out a 10yo girl was sexting nude pic's of herself to 12 and 13 yo boys nothing surprises me anymore.
After all the news stories and all the inappropriate punishments handed out we would think twice but we are talking teenagers here and having raised a few......

Having BEEN a teenager, sometimes I didn't make the best choices. Living and learning is part of growing up. I empathize on one level with the hell that the cops have put this kid and his family through, but I will guarantee that HE will be laughing about it eventually.
