Thompson's last article for RS was in 1983 (his first one in 5 years)... for reference, he died in 2005. I think there's a reason Dr. Thompson stopped writing for them, and their downfall can be linked to shitty writing since the 1990's (possibly even before). Albeit, now-a-days, you have to be partly brain dead to even subscribe to them.

I think RS is a mirror image of today's popular music.

The list is quite a leap in research and journalistic integrity:
1. Pistols
2. Revolvers (Also handguns)
3. Rifles
4. Shotguns
5. Derringers
