    Very true. Negative sum crop, uses too much water, and increases food prices.

    The article I read a couple of weeks ago was blaming the ag focus on nut trees, especially almonds, for the increase in water use. This includes the increased market in Asia. I'll see if I can find it.

    I guess when you have a 'no-water' hammer, everything looks like a nail.
