The rebels originally tweeted they had shot down an AN-26 military transport.

Upon realizing they shot down a civilian airliner, all those tweets/posts were apparently deleted.

Why anyone thinks routing civilian aircraft within 100 miles of an active military conflict is beyond me.

I can't believe they fly over these pleases as well.

Over 1200 Boeing 777s have been built since they were introduced in June 1995. Malaysian Airlines bought 17 of them. I guess now they're down to 15.
