    Default M&P convert lol

Greetings all, noob here but not to guns. I was taught to shoot with a 1911 a looong time ago as a wee 12yr old. Through life I've used virtually all kinds of handguns but always preferred the 1911 (Les Baer TRS is my #1). Last year I tried out the S&W M&P for the first time and really liked the way it shot. Now a year later I've got a full size 9 (no thumb/mag safety) and I feel S&W really has it nailed with this pistol. I had an Apex duty/carry kit put in, night front sight and I really like the way this thing shoots and handles.

I'm going to an advanced class in a couple of weeks and plan on using the M&P. It's been 100% reliable with every type of ammo I've run. Very pleased with the accuracy (built in May of '13, has the new twist rate barrel). I've got a Raven holster on the way, should be here sometime in the upcoming week.

No it's not on par with my Baer, didn't expect it to be, but as a self defense pistol I couldn't be happier.

If you like 1911s and like the S&W M&P, you might try the Walther PPQ. The striker is pre-cocked and the trigger feel is very much like a 1911 with a similar short reset.
Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.
