Default I've gone retro, but am only half way there......

So I found some new old stock A1 barrels a long time ago. Then found couple of upper receivers (do not know if they Are M16A1 uppers or Sp1 uppers) both are small front pin. Then I found someone that had some unused A1 straight delta rings, weld spring and clip. Now all I need to do is properly mount and torque the barrels to the uppers and install a gas tube and flash hider on both.

And it appears impossible to keep dog hair and dust out of close up pictures taken on the floor.

Man, I remember the days when I could pick up the old stuff cheap. I bought a couple of brand new, FN marked, light profile, 20" barrels with the FSB for $49 each. The guy had a barrel full of them. Still in the wrappers. I think he got them from the government when they switched over to the A2 stuff. Picked up some nice mil-surp A1 butt stocks and grips left over from the Vietnam era dirt cheap too. Never could find a smoking deal on an A1 upper though. Ended up buying a new one from Bushmaster. Of course I'm really reliving old memories. This was probably the late 1980's or early 90's.

Post up some pictures when you get them all put together.

At least you have 1 with the old prong hider. Have fun with those!

That could easily be a 2 year wait, I am ordering some Nodak Spud 603 lowers, and that is his current backlog... I will just have to get a couple of A2 Rock River lowers in the meantime.

I always wanted to do a pre/early A1 style (pre forward assist) Dissapator with triangular hand guards.
