Does such a thing exist? Need job help...

So I don't want to do another Ronin's diary, but I need to know if I'm searching for something that doesn't exist... So back in December I graduated from the Red Rocks LE Academy, and thanks to my restraint and the GI Bill I managed to save up enough money while attending the academy to live off of (combined with VA disability) while I dedicated my time to getting hired. Well it's been 7 months and that money is wearing thin and, despite coming close a few times, I'm still not sworn, on the street, earning a paycheck. I'm constantly applying for just about any agency within 2 hours of Denver since I'm moving in with the GF once hired.

My issue: I need more income than my VA monthly nets me, plus that whole new truck now that my car is starting to get to the point of unafordability if I wanna keep it on the road (100K + now). So I need a job that will pay the bills, but still give me the flexibility to test and interview with LE agencies, but won't screw me over on account of me being there until I get hired with a PD or SO. Basically, a night job or flexible schedule job. Does such a thing exist? Or do I need to contact metro taxi to see if they're hiring? I looked into working for Argus, the concert security company that works Red Rocks, Filmore, Bluebird, etc., but I'm concerned I won't get the hours or salary needed. And yes, I even entertained the idea of selling the Beemer for a cheaper junker car until I can afford the new truck. Any ideas? Help? Leads?

Honestly...waiting tables is the best, easiest and fastest way to make some cash (if you don't mind dealing with the public). People are always looking to switch shifts so the flexibility is there, and if you get in with the right place then you can make some pretty fat cash working minimal hours. I made close to $400 a night working 4-11 on a Saturday night working the bar and a couple of tables on a Saturday night in a burger joint in the DU area. Not the most fun job, and people are assholes for sure...but it's easy cash.

Seriously, you may try UPS. A few of my kids friends worked swing/nights and set aside some decent cash loading/unloading trucks.

Temp agencies. Day labor. I know a few guys who got hired by companies while working day labor jobs. And it's pretty flexible.

RTD is hiring drivers. They start classes every two weeks. Part time or full time. Almost every school district is hiring bus drivers. Hours in the morning and afternoon. Leaves plenty of time for another part time job during the day.
