I don't think that anyone actually purchases a firearm from Gunsmoke. They just display guns with HUGE price tags on them as a hobby.

A buddy and I took their CCW class over ten years ago. Rich Wyatt was mildly entertaining, but also mildly incorrect on a number of key points.

I'm absolutely shocked, shocked I tell ya, that Gunsmoke is still in business.

This thread explains a lot of things that a friend of mine said recently. He said he went in and saw a Glock for $900. I figured they had done some extensive work to it to make it the Chuck Norris of Glocks, but he said it must be all internal, because it certainly looked stock. I've never had any interest in going there, it doesn't seem like they have anything to offer that I can't get anywhere else.

Found this while poking around for info on Gunsmoke.
Gunsmoke - Owner Rich Wyatt Intimating Gunshop owner, Trys to Browbeat and interragate Consumer over a refund Wheatridge Colorado
I heard about the class on handling guns on the Peter Boyles show. I signed up on the phone in April for my daughter and I to take the class. The total cost was $1500 and the first available class was the end of August. Because of changing circumstances, we decided to cancel the classes and about 2 weeks ago My daughter called to cancel. The employee on the phone said the classes were non-refundable and that we signed a contract to that affect. When my daughter called and told me, I informed her that I didn't sign anything and did not know that it was non-refundable. She called back and the employee said she would have to talk to the instructor and that he was out of town and would call her back. She had to call several times and finally was called back by the owner Rich Wyatt. These are the points from the conversation:
    1. He said we signed a contract and we were required to sign this within 3 days of signing up--she told him no and there were no papers signed.
    2. He said I was given a verbal instruction that there are no refunds--she said no.
    3. During the whole conversation he kept calling her a liar and kept talking over her and kept escalating.

    Well
With all of the clatter I had to go see for myself.
    it looks nice.
I was greeted and people did speak to me. One might attribute this to me having met Richard earlier that day elsewhere, I cannot say one way or the other.
The General feeling I got from a few of the employees was that that they weren't really happy with their situations or location.

The selection of weapons I saw was more for the collector or higher end shooter.
They did not have a wide selection of anything I might carry everyday, But they did have a few.

I have to be honest, I did not have allot of interaction with them, I cannot speak for their gunsmithing as I will not use anyone but Bert. I cannot say anything about their sales service practices as I didn't buy anything. My boys and I went in, Browsed, fondled a few guns and hung out for a bit.
I'm not going to give a raving review, but I have nothing negative to say

had my first business dealing (trade) with gunsmoke today
trade went well . even though they were very busy they still had time for my little trade (less than 100 bucks). so dont be scared if they are busy and the fancy guns by the door , if you have patience so do they .
still cant vouch for the gunsmith work and probably never will be able to as ill stick with bp tactical .no offense to gunsmoke , i just like to stick to my own kind (as in other forum members) . but the next time in looking for a fair trade or to purchase a rifle (c&r or mil surplus , as thats what im into) , ill stop by and see whats on the lot for sure and wont shy others from doing the same.
good selection , fair prices , friendly staff

That was covered by several of it's own threads with RMGO in the title. I saw the Gunsmoke truck filming at a shooting site once.

It's been a few years since I've been to Gunsmoke for several reasons. I was lucky enough to not suffer the frustration of having any work done to a pistol, only because I needed the use of said pistol for the 18 months I was asked to be without it.

Spoke to a guy and asked if I brought in an older series 70 Colt, how much it would take to update it and make it a good duty gun. First, I almost **** when he told me $2500 and then when he said it would be a year and half to get it back, I actually laughed out loud. I said, and I quote "Are you ****ing kidding me?". Needless to say, the conversation turned south with him telling me they were the best in the business and nobody can put out a better 1911. I told the guy that I really doubt they could make that old battle rattle colt work better than my Les Baer that cost much less that $2500. At that point, he got pretty ****ty and basically told me I obviously didn't know what I was talking about etc and all the famous people that own their guns etc.....Guess I didn't know John Elway was trading shots with people on a daily basis and demanded the best.

Long story short, I left and haven't been back and have steered as many people away as I could.

Oh, and took my Colt to Rocky Mountain Arms, $700 and two weeks later and it works great, still isn't a Les Baer though
