I don't really miss the truck and just rent a u haul the once every couple years I just can't do without. I do have a old bronco 4x4 that I use for hunting/finshing/off road use once in a blue moon, but with the seats down and the roof rack on the Subaru I can carry just about anything I need to outside of furniture or a large load of lumber.
It also aggravates the shit out of me that I can't buy a half ton truck with a manual transmission anymore. Think the newest one I've ever found was a 97 F-150 I owned for a while. It didn't even have a steering wheel tilt, much less power locks/windows etc. The new trucks all seem to be these leather heated seats, power everything, 4 door, why not just buy a Cadillac monstrosities. Seriously if you are going to drop $40K on a new truck with all the extra bullshit why not just buy a caddy and have a super comfortable ride.
If I could go down to the lot and get a regular cab truck with a bench seat, a 5-speed and roll up windows, that didn't cost half of my mortgage I might own one again. They're supposed to be for work not a luxury vehicle.
