I know *somebody* that found something cool at the show that only has overpriced worthless junk.
Was slow with the vendor I was helping also. Heard several others echo the same sentiment. I actually see lots decent deals. Granted we always see the old-timers who are still trying to sell the same guns they have carried to the shows for the past 3 or 4 years at inflated prices. But somehow I get the sense they really don't care if they sell or not. Just a past-time for some.
Lots of additional space between the aisles and lots of vendors no longer show up. Crowds are sometimes decent enough, there sure aren't many buyers. It makes me wonder if there will still be regular gun shows in Denver if this keeps up.

One overlooked item. The mid summer shows were always slow.. It should pick up steam as november rolls around. Followed by the same winter slump.

Just keep holding out until the lead up to Billary's election.

I just wish i had more scratch to stack cheap guns. Maybe I'll cash in my silver when it hits $40 and buy gun parts.

You're right about the summer slow-down, Jim. But it has actually been slow for about a year now. That long term slow-down is what has driven a lot of vendors off. I do expect it to pick up in the fall, it's just a question of how much. As Brutal points out, upcoming elections both this year and the run-up to 2016 could definitely change things.
I'm also a member at The Firing Line and have noticed a significant drawn out slow down there. It's a cyclical industry, but a down trend lasting a couple of years can kill some of the small businesses.

How can anyone be surprised. People have spent tons of money they didnt have over the last couple of years in panic buying. There has to be an adjustment. After a huge buying spree there is usually a huge dip. If the idiots behind tanner insist on having a show every three or four weeks and vendors expect to keep selling like they did a year ago they are nuts.

I'm afraid the days of gun shows are coming to an end soon. I think the internet is at least partly to blame. Twenty years ago if I was looking for a bayonet for something or a holster for something or a pallet of 7.62x39 I went to the gun show. Today, I just hop on line and find what I want and have it sent to my door. Gun shows used to be a real good place to buy or sell stuff. Today a gun show is more literally a "show". A place to look at stuff and talk about stuff and maybe handle a few things but that's about it.

I remember the huge shows at the Astro hall in Houston. You could expect to spend two days there if you wanted to try to see everything.

I try to make it to the Tanner shows as my schedule allows but mostly for the nostalgia of the whole affair. I hardly ever spend money there.

Ditto, I miss the size and variety of the Astro Hall shows.

Another winning thread of show bashing. Sadly, I'm as guilty of it as the rest of you.

Perhaps we should just ask the mods to remove the GUNSHOW forum.

We actually had a decent show. Sold a bunch of vests and I even sold an overpriced AR. (Thanks Randy! @R&S for the BGC) I bought some mixed 00-04 LC 7.62x51 from a guy for .60/rd DELIVERED and I'm happy with the deal. I did have to walk out in the parking lot and then put the boxes in my truck after he pulled up to it. Phew, hard work for that one.

I passed on the Portuguese battle packs. If he had moved down price I might have grabbed them too. Totally passed on the 1973 in cans on M14 stripper clips but if anyone wants it and wants to make an offer, I might still be able to get it from him.

I didn't go to this one, but I'll be at the September 20 show, that one should be much better partly because hunting season is just around the corner.

I, for one, sure hope the Mods do NOT intend to remove the Gun Show section. I refer to it quite often.
