I'm going to the Erie Air Fair http://www.erieairfair.com
Two airports in two consecutive weekends. I might need to go get a check ride and get current again.![]()
I thought about going coif but I am playing some golf instead. I also love a good air show. Take some pics!
Where?
Colorado springs
I won't be attending next year there were MANDITORY bag checks and cspd really dropped the ball as far as traffic goes I waited for an hour and 20 minutes in traffic to get there watching cops play on there cell phones and stand around with there hands on there hips instead of directing traffic
For the life of me I can't figure out why Colorado can't put together a top notch airshow every year that the Tbirds or Blues would attend. We are lucky if we can even get a demo team or anything from the armed forces. This year all I see are local attractions, drones, and RC planes and then they charge big bucks just to attend and even more to park the car. Airshows should be put on by the government, not by a group that uses our tax payer funded airports to get the most out of their business plan.
I really blame the Denver Airport authority who bow down to the airlines out at DIA and prevent a good show from happening. Front Range had a good one planned a few years ago with the Blue Angels and DIA killed it because it was going to shut down two runways on the southeast side of the airport on a weekend for a few hours. I think that got Colorado blacklisted or something.
What really ticks me off is when I see all the participation by our government in foreign airshows. Hell, I think the Thunderbirds were at a Dubai airshow not too long ago and have hit tons of other countries around the world.
Anyway as mentioned earlier Aviation Nation at Nellis is THE airshow in the US every year. Best by far, and free to enter. Great to see what some of that tax money goes to!
