    Default Reloading .223 cases w/ a "ding"

I have held off on reloading my .223 brass, because both my AR, and my AK in .223 put a ding in the side of the case when ejecting. Can this be fixed and/or safely reloaded?

On the same thought, I got rid of a G-3 clone because it dinged the .308 cases...could those have been reloaded?

I have reloaded some pretty ugly looking brass. some pics would help, but I would say a good full lenght resizing die should do the trick.

Don't have any pics handy, but they are dented in, not bulged out. The dent is in the lower half of the case.

If its an ejection ding, then you'll be fine. It'll fireform out when you shoot the brass next time. watch your brass carefully, because once you get a couple of those 'over worked' areas they'll start to weaken the case.

They are ejection dings. My concern is exactly that. Whether or not the case is weakend to a level unsafe to reload.

If it's not on the "shoulder" i'd use them. If its really deep, I would not... my 2 cents.

Not in the shoulder, they are in the main body of the case, where it gets pulled into the side of the ejection port.

Are the dings about as deep as a paper clip?

Those dings are on the neck/shoulder, mine are generally in the middle, or down towards the base. Are the shoulder dings fatal for the cartridge?
