Default Buying a dirtbike from a private party

Gonna get a dirtbike from a guy up north. What do I need to know? Are dirtbikes titled? I dont think they have to be registered with the dmv, just the annual sticker. Are they transferrable from owner to owner?

How the F did the pink pony get in my post?

You can title a db but it's not too common. It's a simple cash exchange for the most part. I'd get a BOS just to have a receipt but other than that you should be gtg. You don't need a sticker until you hit the trails and then you need a spark aresstor on your muffler. Have fun and be safe, you can break your arms on those things

I have a pretty good bill of sale designed to protect both the buyer and the seller. PM me and I can email you a copy.

YZ 450F 2009, the year before they went to fuel injection. Heard the motor is pretty reliable and strong. Don't wanna race, just ride trails and a few track days.

Definitely get a BOS. Saved my brother a theft charge.

Yeap, just get a BOS, and before taking it on trails, get an OHV sticker.

A lot of people title and plate dirtbikes in CO, but it's not necessary for trail/track only use. I have mine plated for use in hopping from one trail or trail system to another. Also makes a quick spin up town for something kinda handy too.

That is a good sized dirt bike! Take care and make sure you don't need to sell it to cover your hospital bills!

(Does your Mom know about this?)

Colorado has started titling OHVs. I don't know much (anything, really) about the new procedures; a little Googling may be worth your while.
