    Run the Linux OS! Has Chrome and Firefox and you can access Google apps for spreadsheets or word docs. The Ubuntu distro seems the easiest for most people I know to install and use. You don't see ads for Linux because there is no charge for Linux as far as a license fee. Been running Linux for years. Lately just Mac and Linux and have shut off my Windows boxes altogether.

    I still run a M$ box for work compatibility, however, my current laptop is running CrunchBang or #! for the more nerdy in the group. I have an older PowerBook G4 running 10.5.8 Leopard and it still provides adequate service. One of the nicest parts of linux is the easy ability to run from a live CD or USB drive. OS on a stick
