I liked the first episode better than the second episode for Season 8. I'm getting really sick of Clara very quickly; I certainly did not appreciate the anti-military snark that was a subtext of the show. I'm sure there will be some reflection in the show later on. It just makes no sense to me, as the 50th anniversary rebooted the war. Why then, the anti-soldier mentality?
I do like the darker direction he's taking; there's a lot of salt needed to counteract the saccharin that Matt Smith left behind.
