Default 2 backpacks I made this week.

They are both two compartment packs. both have hydration sleeves, interior hooks and organizers. The larger one is set up for an additional compression piece. that can either be for more gear, a rifle or fold down to carry a rifle. The larger one is waiting for a piece for the sternum strap. Both are all 1000 denier cordura. Milspec thread, webbing, buckles and material. Everything is US made and Berry compliant. In case you are wondering...the larger pack is "foilage" in color. Its the same color used in the ACU pattern. Next one will be in a-tacs.

They look great!! What equipment are you using and did you work off of a pattern? Ever think of incorporating a mesh/suspension/ventilation system to keep the sweat on the back down?

no pattern. I just make it up as I go. I did make a pattern of these packs, so I can build on them without reinventing the wheel. There is allways room to improve and redesign.
I have a bunch of industrial sewing equipment. Primarily I have been working in the leather world. Since January I have been making things out of nylon. I have some of the spacer mesh. I am going to try that for a backpanel coming up.

I think it will allways be just a hobby. There are too many other good makers out there. I cant imagine there is a need for another American made gear maker. American made gear is expensive. So, I imagine the market is fairly small anyway. Now if I had a sweatshop in some third world company I could probably churn these out for a profit. I really enjoy making the gear.

here is another pack I made.

Well when you get bored some time, I bet you could make something similar to a Smart Carry. There are already knock offs of that brand, but I bet you could put some interesting ideas in there.

There is always room for a high quality, innovative, craftsman like yourself.
