    I just defend my home-schooled children with dogs and guns... problem solved.

    I could maybe see using those to protect from flying debris when hunkering down from a hurricane or tornado. They look stupid as hell when trying to protect loved ones from a shotgun or rifle.

    I think school security issues could be fixed much cheaper and more effective then this. Seems pretty hoaky and dangerous.

    I always though the "duck and cover", in the hallways, was to make it easier to find the bodies. Not what they told the kids, of course.

    So if a kid punches another kid while wearing the blanket, do they get extra charges tacked on for committing a crime while wearing body armor? Also, schools better hurry up and waste my money on these blankets before they are made illegal.

    if you read the article, it sounds like a lot of people were unhappy about them playing on the fears of parents, and were calling them shameless.

    Hopefully a teacher or parent who was on scene and armed, ignoring a bad law.
