    Default Keymod

    Who's using it? Who's convinced?

I get the lightweight aspect of it, but it's so far just been annoying to me. I don't want to have to keep track of several different mounting options, and since keymod isn't fully "out there" yet, all that means is I'm mounting pic rails on my keymod stuff.

With Magpul m-lok rails being probably cheaper and more simple to manufacture and more tacticool with the fanboys, is keymod doomed?

Don't you want your rifle to be covered in penis silhouettes?

Sorry, just ripping on something for fun. Stole this from another site.

In all seriousness. I like the idea of smoother HGs. But then I've always been a fan of PRI's on my stuff. I liked the Apex HG's too. Keymods a good attempt to get a universal attachment method, but some of the other proprietary systems have been pretty good too. I guess its still one of those wait and see things.

You don't trust Keymod (which has been around for a few years and is basically a new standard mounting platform) to stick around, but are willing to throw your weight behind Magpul's knockoff Keymod which is supported solely by Magpul?

Well it's not really a matter of "trust" or preference to me one way or the other. I just like to be able to swap stuff between guns from time to time, and was mostly avoiding the new options completely, until I had a keymod upper arrive that I wasn't expecting. I don't have any sort of preference, and don't know that I like either one. Just curious what everybody's thinking.

I do think it's interesting that Magpul lists Noveske as one of their M-LOK participating vendors though. (From back in April)

Personally, I like the keymod rails. Of course I tend not to stick a bunch of junk on my rifles so I really don't use the keymod feature much. I just like the fact that they are thin and light weight.

I do agree with the original poster that the aftermarket needs to step up and start making more accessory type things for it.

We should ask 10mm-man if he got a free Magpul hat when he signed up...

10" or so keymod on a 16" carbine. Sucker is light and balanced. Like it so much will get another one to balance out my heavy barreled rifle, way too much mass up front right now makes it front heavy. As for accessories what is missing?
