Has anyone taken the 4x4 Medano Pass Trail? They ( National Park Service) say it is for high clearance 4x4's. Anyone know how the trail really is? I have not been down there but would love to take the family there for camping.

I drove it back in 1988... does that count? I took a Toyota 4x4 Pick up with a small block chevy, lifed, locking differentials.
I could be done in just about any 4x4 that is a capable off road vehicle. Nissan Rogue/Murano's need not apply.
Your standard Jeep Liberty probably won't make it.
Trail Certified.... yeah
There are some deep water crossings and deeeep sand areas.
Be prepared to lower you tire pressure and re-inflate after crossing the sand.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
Couple years ago, like Osprey said be prepared for the water crossings. At that time I was locked and on 33s and it was no problem. How are you set for lift, tires, lockers, trail buddies, and experience?
