Default A question up for discusion

Based from something I saw here on the site I have a question and want to see what everyone thinks.

    Here's the question.

You post a firearm for sale for lets say for the sake of the argument $500.00
Some one says they'll take the said firearm at the asking price of $500.00 and agree on a time and place to meet.

Before the meeting time some one either here on the board or elsewhere offers more money than the asking price.

Since the first deal was made with a verbal or written agreement on the $500.00 price, should that be the end of it?

Should the seller be able to bump the price for what ever the reason might be?

Should the seller face a Co-AR-15.com punishment of some sort for backing out after an agreement was made?

A man is only as good as his word.

You make a deal for a set price, thats the deal.

    What Marlin said.
Assault is a type of behavior, not a type of hardware.

I would have to agree. Tarnishing your name by revamping the deal after an agreement has been made is not worth it.

Glad to see a moderator jump in with the good word

I think once the deal has been confirmed then that is it. A man is only as good as his word.

In the words or scarface: "All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one"

Sure, it is a free world where the guy can accept more money and in the end, he will end up with extra cash in his pocket, but he broke his word. that is worth a lot more to most people.

Another lesson is, ask what you would like to get out of the gun. if that means starting high and working your way down and accepting offers, then do it that way.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

    My Feedback
